It's been a while since my last update. Well, what can I say, I've been busy.
Also I couldn't really write the next post without adding the backend code for rss feeds. I did promise this to some people so here goes: the rss feed is here!
What else is new? Oh yeah, time I update some of my previous posts. Michael Hendrickx and I have switched back from Google apps to Postfix / Dovecot. Reason being? Well, it turned out that Google Apps doesn't really offer that much flexibility when it comes to managing e-mail for multilple domains. And I couldn't shake off this feeling of our data being out of reach in "the cloud". You know, this has been a hot issue for many discussions lately. Is your data really safe in "the cloud"? Well, I don't want to get into this right now, but think about it and discuss it at your next IT geek meetup.
Indonesia is great. I really like this country and its people. I have seen some weird stuff though. Jumping red lights is a common practice at night for one thing. Just honk to let "them" know that "you're coming" seems to be the substitute rule.
I played around with Joomla! lately. I worked with Mambo a few years ago and was quite happy with it, but a bit dazzled with its complexity sometimes. The Joomla! fork is pretty nice. My girlfriend is setting up a web shop and I discovered that Joomla! seems to be perfect for the job. There's this plugin called virtuemart that will turn your Joomla! CMS into a fully functional online shop including shopping cart etc. Check it out. More on my girlfriend's webshop later on.
This weekend I have to exit the country and come back in order to renew my visit visa which expires after 30 days. I'm thinking of going to Singapore for a few days. I heard it's really nice there and I can visit some old friends.
Note to self: make proper use of the tags attaching to the posts (Did anyone say "tag cloud"?).
