Bellua Cyber Security Conference 2008
November 20, 2008 in bellua indonesia security

Tuesday 18th of November and Wednesday 19th of November the Jakarta National Convention Center hosted the 4th annual Bellua Asia Pacific Cyber Security conference.

It was a great success and really surprising actually to see this kind of attention for a "hacking conference" in Indonesia, which is lagging a bit behind on the booming tech highway. However, hosting and sponsoring events like this shows Indonesia's commitment to close the gap. After all Indonesia has about 250 million inhabitants who, because of dropping Internet connection prices, get easier and easier access to the Internet, its merits and its security problems.

Several big names like The Grugq (independent security consultant) and Tiamo (co-founder of The Pirate Bay) were not only attending but also presenting, sharing their knowledge.
