Watched The Big Lebowski again the other day, ah what a movie. Legendary.

I checked out the original motion picture soundtrack and I was very disappointed. Two songs I think they should have defintely included:

• CCR - Looking out my back door
• Elvis Presley - Viva Las Vegas

I'm testing out the new blog engine code for this site. I've updated Rails to version 2.3.3 and added some improvements. It's now possible to find older posts using the tag cloud on the side. This still needs some work though.

I've also updated the syndication feed. Switched to an atom feed now.

Updated the site backend code yesterday. Reconfigured tiny_mce plugin to allow me to add some more markup like hyperlinks.

Some friends who looked at my site assumed that it was using Wordpress. Not at all. I wanted this to be an exercise for me and a playground to gain some more experience with Ruby On Rails. I wrote this from scratch. This site is written in Ruby On Rails and uses the following plugins:

• restful authentication
• haml for easy markup
• tiny_mce javascript wysiwyg editor plugin for rails
• acts_as_taggable_on_steroids
• Vlad the Deployer
• Phusion Passenger (aka mod_rails for Apache)

Some things on the todo list is to make more use of the tagging.

 update: I see where the confusion with Wordpress comes from now. The nice open source theme I'm using is actually a Wordpress theme
